The next-to-leading order of the differential cross-section of the subprocess of compton scattering of quark-gluon of prompt photon production in proton–proton collisions at NICA energies

In the presented paper, next-to-the leading order calculation of differential cross-section of the subprocess of Compton scattering [Formula: see text] of prompt photon production in proton–proton collisions at NICA energies has been carried out without and taking into account the longitudinal polarization of colliding protons. It is shown that the contribution of the next-to-leading order to differential cross-section is significant at the high energies of colliding protons and accounts for around 15% of the leading order calculation. The influence of polarization of colliding protons on the next-to-leading order calculation is more significant than on the leading order calculation.

Abstract

In the presented paper, next-to-the leading order calculation of differential cross-section of the subprocess of Compton scattering [Formula: see text] of prompt photon production in proton–proton collisions at NICA energies has been carried out without and taking into account the longitudinal polarization of colliding protons. It is shown that the contribution of the next-to-leading order to differential cross-section is significant at the high energies of colliding protons and accounts for around 15% of the leading order calculation. The influence of polarization of colliding protons on the next-to-leading order calculation is more significant than on the leading order calculation.
