A Method of Increasing the Readiness to Learn and Result of the Practice: "Buzz Session on Pre-Learning"
Pre-learning activities, such as preparation or flipped learning, help students grasp the basic concepts or knowledge needed before a lesson is to be begun. However, such pre-learning activities have a few shortcomings, that make it difficult for learners to actually pre-learn. To address these, the authors propose a method called “Pre-Buzz-Session”. The authors conducted a qualitative analysis of textual data obtained from the Pre-Buzz-Session practice and classified the results in a learning model. The Pre-Buzz-Session was found to enable learners to increase their readiness to learn. In this paper, the authors describe the Pre-Buzz-Session and discuss the learning effects that this method produced in terms of the practical application of this practice.
