Transparent e-Scooter fleet management with blockchain
E-scooter sharing services have revolutionized urban mobility but face challenges in multi-vendor coordination, such as inefficient scooter placement and fragmented data sharing. This research proposes a blockchain-based system using smart contracts to enable automated feet management across independent and potentially competing operators, including real-time availability, usage tracking, payment handling, and rebalancing triggers. Following the Design Science Research methodology, a prototype was developed iteratively and evaluated with real-life data.
