Generation Z’s subjective wellbeing– evidence from Poland

The article focuses on the subjective wellbeing (SWB) of the population in Poland by age, which includes an individual approach to assessing human life satisfaction in many important aspects. The aim of the study was to examine the SWB of Generation Z in relation to other age groups, i.e., Generation Y, Generation X, and Baby Boomers. The latest statistical data wellbeing (ESS) for 2022 was used. The study applies an ordinal logistic regression model and a linear regression model. Literature analysis and empirical findings suggest that research on SWB from a micro perspective in Poland has not received much attention, especially regarding age. It was found that in Poland, SWB in all age groups is higher than in Generation Z. Moreover, it was revealed that rural residents have a higher level of SWB than urban residents, and women show lower SWB than men. Research confirms that it is necessary to constantly monitor changes in the SWB of the population, taking into account age.
