Implementation of Blockchain-based Electronic Voting System: A Case Study in Indonesia

Indonesia’s electoral system has faced challenges with vote manipulation, evidenced by irregularities in recent elections. This centralized approach erodes voter confidence and raises doubts about the integrity of election results. To address these concerns, this study proposes a blockchain-based electronic voting system for Indonesia. Leveraging the decentralized, immutable, and transparent nature of blockchain technology, this system aims to enhance security and accountability in vote recording and auditing. By enabling secure and auditable vote casting and counting, this blockchain-based system will minimize the potential for fraud and increase transparency. This case study will analyze the feasibility of implementing such a system in a specific region within Indonesia, considering factors such as existing infrastructure, legal frameworks, and public acceptance. The study aims to demonstrate how a blockchain-based voting system can contribute to enhancing voter confidence and improving the integrity of electoral processes in Indonesia.
