Design of Application Program for Scheduling Departure of Side Dump Truck PT XYZ in Coal Hauling Activity from Stockpile to Port Using Queuing Theory
Coal hauling have a vital role in maintaining the stability of the coal supply chain. Unfortunately, coal hauling activities at PT XYZ, which serves as a contractor for PT ABC, often face long queues in the loading and dumping areas due to ineffective truck departure scheduling. This research aims to develop a web-based application for scheduling the departure of side dump trucks (SDT) in coal hauling activities at PT XYZ, utilizing queuing theory to improve operational efficiency. The research methods include analysis and optimization using queuing theory, as well as application development. The results indicate that optimizing the truck arrival rate from 12,92 units/hour to 6 units/hour enables the scheduling of truck departures with a 10-minute interval. Thus, the queuing theory approach significantly reduces queuing potential in coal hauling service stages, thereby improving the company’s operational efficiency.
