Fixed Point Results for Cyclic Generalized ψ ‐Weak Contraction Mapping in Rectangular b‐Metric Spaces With Applications

The objective of this paper is to present a new fixed‐point result for a class of mappings named a cyclic generalized ψ ‐weak contraction. We also presented the best proximity point for the contraction when the considered sets have no common points. We go through rigorous steps to prove the existence of a unique fixed‐point and best proximity point results under different conditions for the stated mapping in rectangular b‐metric spaces (RbMSs). Our results generalize the findings introduced in Theorems 4 and 5, and related papers in the literature. We also provided a nontrivial example that justifies our findings. Finally, we demonstrate the application of our result on the existence of a unique solution for the integral equation. MSC2020 Classification 47H10, 54H25.
