Neutron field spatial distribution from the DD neutron source determined by the KOSTKA experimental device

The spatial distribution of neutrons plays a crucial role in characterizing the neutron source. In this experiment, solid-state nuclear track detectors made of polyallyl diglycol carbonate (PADC) were selected for this purpose. These detectors have already proven effective in fast neutron measurements, and their dimensions, together with their flexibility, enabled simultaneous measurements in a 3D geometry. For this task, the KOSTKA device in combination with the KOSTKACode was employed, allowing the attachment of additional materials depending on the experimental requirements. The experimental data obtained was then compared with simulations carried out using DROSG-2000.
