Evolution of dielectric and ferroelectric properties in LiTaO 3 under high pressure

A pressure-induced transition from coexisting electrostriction and ionic conduction to electronic conduction was observed in LiTaO 3 . Ferroelectricity strengthened in R 3 c but vanished in Pnma , driven by TaO 6 to TaO 8 polyhedral transformation.

Abstract

A pressure-induced transition from coexisting electrostriction and ionic conduction to electronic conduction was observed in LiTaO 3 . Ferroelectricity strengthened in R 3 c but vanished in Pnma , driven by TaO 6 to TaO 8 polyhedral transformation.
