Sizing of a new Switched Inertance Hydraulic System : Hydraulic BUCK-BOOST Converter
With the development of digital hydraulics, there have been many studies around the behavior modeling and the control of Switched Inertance Hydraulic Converters (SIHCs), which led to functional systems in low-power applications. But new studies tend to increase the transmitted power thanks to better performances in fast switching valves. This paper introduces a topological approach to design a new SIHC called hydraulic Buck-Boost converter, and a sizing method will be proposed based on the assumptions made when sizing electrical SMPCs.
