Discourses of the End
A translation of two episodes from Les Discours de la fin, a sixteen-episode series of conversations organised by Claude Lévesque in Montréal and Paris, and broadcast on Radio Canada in 1983, featuring leading thinkers including Sarah Kofman, Emmanuel Levinas, Jean-François Lyotard and many others. In ‘Maurice Blanchot and the Writing of the Disaster’ and ‘The Withdrawal of the Apocalypse’, Jacques Derrida, Philippe Lacoue-Labarthe and Jean-Luc Nancy discuss several notions in Blanchot's work of relevance to our environmental crisis, including communism, the disaster, the end of the Book, nihilism, technology and writing.
