Raman, ATR/FT-IR, and LIBS spectroscopy methods for rapid analytical characterization of flexible sheet explosive based on PETN/silicone resin

Raman, attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared (ATR/FT-IR), and laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) methods are used for rapid analytical characterization of flexible sheet explosive based on PETN/silicone resin (SR) containing 12, 14, 16, 18, and 20 wt.% of SR. The obtained spectrums show the changes in the intensity and position of peaks for prepared composite versus raw materials. The calibration curves obtained using the variations of intensity and area of Raman peaks at 500.9 and 712.2<i>c</i><i>m</i>-1 versus wt.% of SR. The regression analysis shows the <i>R</i>2 values of 0.987 and 0.996, respectively, for calibration curves obtained from intensity ratio <i>I</i><i>m</i><i>a</i><i>x</i>/<i>I</i><i>m</i><i>i</i><i>n</i> at 1084.13 to 1049.4<i>c</i><i>m</i>-1 and the intensity ratio of maximum to baseline of peak at 1084.13<i>c</i><i>m</i>-1, according to wt.% of SR in ATR/FT-IR spectra. In the LIBS method, the ratio of two emission lines at 288.19 and 390.53 nm from the Si atom, the ratio of a main peak of Si at 390.53 nm to a peak of the Ca atom at 393.36 nm as an internal standard, and the peak-to-background ratio (P/B) for Si atom shows calibration curves with <i>R</i>2 more than 0.99. The analysis of a sample PETN/SR (85/15) shows accuracy and precision, respectively, 14.2-15.5% and ±0.7<i>%</i> of SR using the proposed methods.
