An Analysis of Plant Conservation Efforts and Their Impact on Ecosystem Stability and Resilience (A Review )
Plant conservation is a critical component of biodiversity preservation, directly influencing the health, stability, and resilience of ecosystems worldwide. As ecosystems face increasing threats from anthropogenic pressures—such as habitat fragmentation, climate change, pollution, and invasive species—targeted conservation strategies have become essential to maintaining ecological balance and safeguarding long-term sustainability. This research offers a comprehensive analysis of both in-situ and ex-situ plant conservation methods, assessing their ecological effectiveness through a mixed-methods approach that includes literature synthesis, field-based case studies, biodiversity indices, and expert interviews. The study finds that ecosystems with robust and well-managed plant conservation programs exhibit higher biodiversity, improved soil health, enhanced pollinator presence, and greater resistance and recovery capacity in the face of environmental stressors. Furthermore, the integration of indigenous knowledge, technological innovation, and supportive governance frameworks significantly enhances conservation outcomes. However, the study also identifies persistent challenges, including policy fragmentation, insufficient funding, and limited community engagement. These findings underscore the urgent need for integrated, multi-scalar, and adaptive conservation approaches to ensure ecological resilience in the Anthropocene.
