Letter from the World Association of Dynamic Psychiatry (WADP)
World Association for Dynamic Psychiatry (WADP), Berlin, Germany, 5 December 2024 Dear Executive Council of the World Association for Social Psychiatry (WASP), Dear Professor Di Nicola, On behalf of the WADP, we full heartedly would like to congratulate the WASP to its 60th anniversary. The founding of the International Association of Social Psychiatry by Joshua Bierer 60 years ago is one of the important milestones in the history of the then-emerging international exchange in psychiatry. We are also very pleased that Prof. Dr. Günter Ammon, my former husband, was one of the founding members of WASP who emphasized the importance of including the social environment in therapeutic treatment. Therefore, the WADP and the WASP always had a close cooperation. In the midst of worldwide and on-going conflicts, divisions, and wars, the 60th anniversary of the WASP reminds us of our shared responsibility and obligation to humanity and its mental health. The importance of fruitful exchanges on a high standing scientific level and especially the open minded, interesting, friendly atmosphere during the WASP congresses has established the close and trusting cooperation between the individual psychiatrists and schools around the world. We sincerely wish you continuous success, good cooperation, much strength, and good exchange for your important and significant work that you can continue to implement for the benefit of mental health and patients. All the best and once again best wishes of all our Executive Council members and Board of Governors. With warm greetings Financial support and sponsorship Nil.
