Comparative Performance Analysis of Grid-Connected PV Systems in Diverse Climatic Zones: A Case Study of Egypt

According to the importance of using renewable energy sources, thisstudy designs and simulates grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) systemsin two Egyptian cities with varying climatic conditions, includingtemperature and humidity. These cities are Marsa Matrouh and Aswan,to study renewable energy generation under varying climatic conditions.PVsyst software was used to simulate solar systems, select gridcomponents (such as solar panels, inverters, batteries, and othercomponents), and measure energy production, losses, and performanceratios. Using HOMER software for economic and sensitivity analysis. The results showed a direct relationship between solar radiation and themaximum power point (MPP), as well as an inverse relationshipbetween temperature and the MPP. The system lifetimes and efficiencieswere carefully evaluated. The difference lies in the multi-facetedanalysis that combines system design and climate impact assessmentbetween the two cities. The study serves as a fundamental reference forthe deployment of PV systems in climate-diverse environments.
