Electromagnetic and Weak Probes: Experiment
Photons (γ) and dileptons (γ* → l + l − ) are emitted from all stages of the high-energy heavy-ion collision, and suffer negligible final-state interactions. Thus, they provide undistorted information at the time of their production. Weak bosons ( W ± and Z 0 ) produced by initially hard scatterings provide insight to constrain the nuclear parton distribution functions (nPDFs). In this article, experimental results of electromagnetic and weak probes are summarized. A lot of results from the LHC, RHIC, and FAIR were shown at this conference. In addition, future facilities for the electromagnetic probes are also discussed.
