Preparation, color formation mechanisms and hydrophobic properties of anodic zirconia films

Tunable structural-colored hydrophobic ZrO 2 films were fabricated by AC/DC anodization. Their voltage-dependent microstructure, optical properties, and hydrophobic behavior are explained through thickness, roughness, and microstructure control.
