<i>D</i> 2h HZn 4 S 4 − : an elongated planar tetracoordinate hydrogen star
The first elongated HZn4S4- (<i>D</i>2h) star containing a planar tetracoordinate hydrogen (ptH) was predicted. It is a true global minimum and possesses good dynamic stability. The central ptH is stabilized by one 5c-2e half-covalent and half-ionic multicenter bond, rather than σ aromaticity. Encouragingly, it is a superhalogen anion.
