A COMMON PRESENTATION OF EOSINOPHILIA WITH AN UNLIKELY DIAGNOSIS
Hyper IgE Syndrome (HIES) is a clinical and diagnostic challenge. Genetic studies play a major role in prognostication of this condition in the patients and their family members. Our case report is regarding a 77-year-old lady with history of multiple hospitalizations and multi-system involvement. Eosinophilia was repeatedly noted and relevant investigations were sent for further evaluation. The quest for a unifying cause led to diagnosis of HIES. We highlight the role of multidisciplinary approach in diagnosing such conditions and educating the patients along with their family members about the prognosis. Clinicians must be aware of the uncommon differentials of eosinophilia. A methodical approach and high clinical acumen can go a long way in establishing these uncommon diagnoses
