FROM THE PERIPHERY TO THE CORTEX: UNRAVELING THE PUZZLE OF FOCAL SEIZURES IN NEUROFIBROMATOSIS
Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) is an autosomal dominant neurocutaneous disorder with a wide spectrum of clinical manifestations. Among its neurological complications, seizures are relatively uncommon but clinically significant. We present the case of a 52-year-old man with focal seizures in the context of NF1. The patient reported involuntary movements of the right upper and lower limb for 4 days, accompanied by headaches. Physical examination revealed multiple café-au-lait spots and cutaneous neurofibromas. MRI brain was consistent with NF1. Family history was also positive. This case highlights the neurological involvement in NF1 and underscores the importance of multidisciplinary management.
