Nomogram-Based Approach for Noise Level Prediction of Pneumatic Rock Drill
Almost one-third urban population of the world is facing the adverse effects of noise pollution. With high efficiency and productivity, significant attention is given to making the noisy machines more environmentally friendly. A pneumatic rock drill is one of the popular but noisy tools in the mining and construction industry. The experimental examination of the pneumatic rock drill’s system parameters’ dynamic behavior is the focus of this paper. Certain design parameters of the tool are selected for study. The international authorities’ noise emission requirements are followed when measuring the tools’ sound levels. The numerical technique is applied to the set of data obtained from it to identify the mathematical relation between selected design parameters and measured sound emission levels. A performance prediction model is formed by sensible sequencing of these relations termed a nomogram. Additionally, these mathematical model equations’ validity and reliability are examined and determined to be in good accord.
