Cases Report Of Autologous Tooth Transplantation Assisted By 3D Model

Autogenous Tooth Tansplantation (AT) refers to the technique of moving an embedded, impaction, or eruption "useless" tooth from its original position in the oral cavity (donor site) to another extraction site or surgically prepared socket (recipient site). For the restoration of missing teeth patients, this is a "waste-to-treasure" option with good functional and aesthetic results. The emergence of 3D printing technology provides a new method of simulation and surgical planning. The authors completed the operation of two cases respectively with the assistance of 3D printing models and achieved satisfactory results. Patient 1, a male, came to our hospital due to the loss of 37 teeth for half a year, and 38 teeth were transplanted into the position of 37 with the support of 3D printing. Patient 2, a female with a 12 deletion due to trauma, had a congenital ectopic 22 transplanted to the 12 position with the assistance of a 3D printed guide plate. The function of the replanted teeth was normal at 1 year follow-up. 3D printing model can shorten the time of donor tooth in vitro, guide the accurate preparation of alveolar fossa in the recipient area, and improve the prognosis of autotransplantation of tooth For patients with a single tooth defect who are not suitable/unwilling to implant or fixed restoration, autotransplantation assisted by 3D printing model is an alternative permanent aesthetic restoration.
