Efficacy Evaluation Of Invisible Orthodontic Treatment For Class ⅱ Patients
This study evaluates the clinical efficacy of clear aligners in treating adult Class Ⅱ malocclusions by analyzing occlusal and dental alignment changes post-treatment. Fifty adult patients treated with clear aligners (2018–2024) were retrospectively analyzed using pre- and post-treatment photographs, digital models, and radiographs. The Peer Assessment Rating (PAR) index and 3D modeling software assessed treatment outcomes. Post-treatment PAR scores demonstrated significant improvements in occlusal relationships and alignment. Digital models revealed maxillary arch expansion and distal displacement of maxillary first molars . Mild root resorption was observed only in maxillary central incisors, with no significant apical changes in other teeth. Clear aligners effectively corrected Class Ⅱ malocclusions by enhancing occlusion, expanding maxillary arches, and achieving molar distalization. Root resorption remained clinically minimal and localized, indicating favorable biological safety. These findings support invisible orthodontics as a viable modality for adult Class Ⅱ cases, balancing efficacy with tissue preservation.
