Tongue Position, Morphology With Maxillomandibular Transverse Dimension , Palate Morphology

investigate the correlation of tongue position and morphology with maxillomandibular transverse dimension and palate morphology. There were 75 males and 93 females, with a mean age of 28.7 years. Class I: 82 cases; Class II: 55 cases; Class III: 31 cases. imported into Dolphin 11.95 software to reconstruct the three-dimensional structure. 1. T2 was correlated with maxillary width and maxillary first intermolar width, respectively (r = 0.183, p < 0.05; r = 0.161, p < 0.05). 2. T3 correlated with maxillary width (r = 0.153, p < 0.05). 3. The anterior-posterior position of the tongue was significantly correlated with palatal cortical plate inclination of the maxillary left first molar (r = 0.200, p < 0.01). 4. The vertical position of the tongue was significantly correlated with the palatal cortical plate inclination of the maxillary right first molar(r = 0.212, p < 0.01). 1. There is a correlation between tongue position and morphology with maxillomandibular transverse dimension and palate morphology in adults. 2.In terms of tongue morphology, the thicker of the tongue, the wider of the mandible. The longer of the tongue, the wider of the maxilla and nasal floor. The longer and higher of the tongue, the more buccally inclined of the right palatal cortical plate.

Abstract

investigate the correlation of tongue position and morphology with maxillomandibular transverse dimension and palate morphology.
