The Application Of Immediate Apical Sealing In Autologous Tooth Transplantation

To optimize the pulp treatment of autologous tooth transplantation, the immediate apical sealing technology was applied. The clinical effects of immediate apical sealing technology and traditional root canal therapy on autologous tooth transplantation were compared. A total of 80 patients who underwent tooth extraction and simultaneous autologous tooth transplantation were randomly divided into an experimental group (apical sealing group) and a control group (root canal treatment group). Immediately after surgery and 1, 3, 6, and 12 months after surgery, clinical symptoms and signs (pain in occlusal and resting state, gingival inflammation, depth of gingival groove exploration, tooth movement) and imaging examination results (alveolar bone density, root surface continuity, root resorption, periodontal ligament space) were recorded. Success rate of transplantation and changes in bone density around transplanted teeth between two groups were calculated and compared. The success rates of the experimental group and the control group were 98.8% and 97.5%, respectively, with no significant difference (P>0.05). There was no significant difference in alveolar bone density between the two groups at 1 and 12 months after surgery (P>0.05); the bone density of experimental group at 3 and 6 months was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). The application of immediate apical sealing technique in autogenous tooth transplantation can achieve similar clinical effect and success rate to root canal therapy. It is an efficient endodontic treatment method for autotransplanted teeth.
