Analysis Of LRBFCM Of The Tooth Crack Model

Currently, the numerical simulation analysis of dental models is limited to the finite element method, and the comparison of other methods is lacking. This study is the first biomechanical study to analyze a model of an occult fracture and its full crown restoration using the local radial basis function collocation method (LRBFCM). LRBFCM was used to construct three models of tooth fissure and its full crown restoration, and their displacement and Von Mises results were analyzed under vertical and oblique loading at 200N. The stress concentration areas of the tooth crack model under vertical and oblique loading are mainly distributed at the occlusal loading, the crack tip and its below, and the longer the crack, the higher the Von Mises stress. After the full crown repair, the stress values of Von Mises were reduced, and the stress concentration area was transferred to the restoration. The Von Mises stress and displacement results of oblique loading in the fissure group and the full crown group were significantly greater than those in vertical loading. The stress concentration at the crack tip of the tooth crack model will lead to crack propagation, and the full crown restoration can inhibit the crack propagation and has a good effect on alleviating the tooth stress concentration of the tooth crack. The loading direction acting on the tooth, the initial position of the crack, and the weak part of the tooth are important factors affecting the development and stress distribution of the tooth.
