Effectiveness Of Clear Aligners For Deep Bite In Vietnamese Adults
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Clear Aligner Therapy (CAT) in correcting deep bites among Vietnamese adults. A retrospective pre-post trial was conducted with 30 adult patients at the Orthodontics Department of the Hanoi Central Odonto-Stomatology Hospital from November 2021 to November 2024. Participants were diagnosed with deep bite and underwent comprehensive clinical and radiographic assessments using standardized measurements before and after CAT. Findings revealed significant improvements, including a 2 mm increase in mandibular plane height and a 2 mm decrease in both overbite and overjet. Midline deviation improved from 0.5 to 0.1 points, with 97% of patients achieving normal occlusion post-treatment. X-ray evaluations indicated favorable changes in occlusal and skeletal relationships, including a decrease in angulation issues and improvements in the gonial angle, enhancing both aesthetics and functionality. This study demonstrates that CAT effectively corrects deep overbites, providing significant clinical and radiographic improvements. The therapy not only enhances occlusal relationships but also offers a viable alternative to conventional treatments, optimizing patient outcomes and quality of life.
