Maxillary Anterior Autologous Root Slice Replantation For Immediate Implantation
Report a case of immediate implantation of an maxillary central incisor after root fracture, with in vitro preparation of root fragment and replanting in the extraction socket to preserve the alveolar ridge. Five years after the surgery, the alveolar ridge was found to be preserved, the root slice could be seen on CBCT image, and the implant is maintaining osseointegration. The autologous root slice replantation technique broadens the clinical indications of the socket-shield technique. Its extraoral root preparation offers superior operability with direct visualization, significantly reducing technical demands on clinicians. The autologous root slice replantation technique can be used in cases of apical inflammation, fracture of the root under the bone margin, etc., which are inappropriate for the socket-shield technique, to preserve the alveolar bone volume, which is a simple and feasible method for clinical application.
