Cdm-5A Care For Preventing Recurrent Caries In Young Children

To evaluate the efficacy of the CDM-5A care model in preventing recurrent caries and improving oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) in young children. From July 2024 to June 2027, 120 children with early childhood caries were randomly assigned to two groups (60 per group). The control group received routine dental care, while the observation group underwent the CDM-5A nursing intervention. Outcomes included caries recurrence rates and OHRQoL changes (assessed using the Early Childhood Oral Health Impact Scale, ECOHIS). Post-intervention, the observation group demonstrated a significantly lower caries recurrence rate (23.6% vs. 56.7%, P<0.05). ECOHIS total scores in the observation group (9.89) were markedly reduced compared to the control group (16.60, P<0.001). Parents in the observation group reported higher satisfaction with their children’s overall health (mean score: 4.2 vs. 2.8) and oral health (mean score: 4.5 vs. 3.1) (P<0.005). The CDM-5A care model effectively reduces recurrent caries in young children and enhances their OHRQoL, offering a promising strategy for pediatric dental care.
