Research On The Related Influencing Factors Of Burning Mouth Syndrome
To explore the etiology and influencing factors of Burning Mouth Syndrome (BMS) and conduct a correlation analysis. This study has been reviewed and approved by the hospital’s ethics committee, and informed consent has been obtained from the patients. From November 2022 and October 2023, this study recruited 109 patients with BMS as the study group and 84 healthy individuals as the control group. Oral examination and questionnaire survey were administered to both groups, and the basic information of patients and healthy people and the history of systemic diseases were recorded, and the oral hygiene, periodontal health and mental and psychological status were evaluated. All experimental data were statistically analyzed by T test, chi-square test and binary logistic regression model. The binary logistic regression analysis showed that periodontitis, corona virus disease 2019, anxiety status, depressive status, sleep disorders, lacunar infarction, and digestive system diseases were factors affecting the incidence of BMS (P<0.05 and OR>1). The incidence of BMS involves the interaction of multiple factors, and its diagnosis and treatment require the cooperation of multiple disciplines, including psychiatry, neurology, gastroenterology, and endocrinology. In addition to strengthening oral hygiene and periodontal health management for patients, clinical practitioners should also pay attention to the aggravation of BMS patients' pain intensity, sleep quality and anxiety caused by the Corona virus disease 2019 pandemic, and provide timely psychological counseling to better control the development of the disease.
