Predictable Adhesive Bonding Of Occlusal Veneer With 3D Printed Tray
Occlusal veneer bonding is a technically sensitive operation. Misalignment, rotation, and improper seating of the restoration affect the marginal and internal fit of the restoration. A new approach for designing and fabricating a bonding tray is described to guide the placement of posterior occlusal veneer, ensuring that the occlusal veneer is accurately seated according to the design. A patient experiencd occlusal discomfort in the upper left posterior teeth for over six months. Intraoral examination revealed a distal-mesial sulcus cleft on the marginal ridge of the maxillary surface of the upper left first molar. With the patient's consent, we opted for a minimally invasive treatment approach, occlusal veneer and did not necessitate preventive RCT. Prepare the #26 cracked tooth. Obtain digital impression(Trios 5, 3Shape A/S). Design the occlusal veneer and a custom tray from the digital cast of the natural dentition with the occlusal veneer(3Shape Dental System, 3Shape A/S) .Print the tray with transparent resin (Surgical Guide UV, HeyGears) and a 3D printer (Projet 7000, 3D Systems) . And fabricate the occlusal veneer with lithium disilicate glass-ceramic (IPS e.max CAD). Bond the occlusal veneer uneder the tray. Veneer bonding is a technically sensitive operation. The lack of axial preparation of the occlusal veneer, the oral environment and itself compact size will affect the operator's judgment, resulting in poor fit of the edges of the restorations. A 3D-printed tray offers a predictable, accurate, and effective method for cementation of occlusal veneers.
