Through multi - disciplinary combined treatment of periodontology, endodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, and implantology, a patient with periodontitis, dental caries, upper anterior teeth elongation, malocclusion, and missing lower anterior teeth was successfully cured. In Apr 2020, a 48 - year - old male patient complained of lower anterior teeth missing for half a year and asked for implant restoration. Medical History: Lower anterior teeth were extracted due to looseness half a year ago. Clinical Diagnosis:1. Dental arch defect;2. Malocclusion;3. Periodontal stage III, grade B;4. Deep caries in 21, 34, 36, 45, 46, 47; impacted 38;5. Microdontia of 12. Treatment Process: Oral hygiene ed., full - mouth basic periodontal treatment; resin fill 21, 34, etc., extract 38; use full - mouth invisible orthodontics to align dental arches, implant anchorage to intrude maxillary ant. teeth; use vacuum - formed retainers in retention stage; implant restore 32 - 42, CAD/CAM porcelain veneer restore 12. Orthodontics lowers elongated upper anterior teeth, adjusts dental arch position and occlusion, creates space for lower anterior tooth implants, solves implant space and occlusion issues, and improves oral function and aesthetics. The combined treatment of multiple dental disciplines is highly significant. It can solve complex oral issues to boost treatment results, improve life quality by enhancing oral functions and appearance, cut risks via joint assessment and planning, and promote doctor communication for discipline development.
