Microstimulation With LPCGF And LLLT To Improve Gingival Papilla Regeneration

To assess the efficacy of using micro-injury healing mechanism combined with highly concentrated liquid phase growth factors (LPCGF) alone or in combination with Low-level Laser Therapy (LLLT) to regenerate interdental papilla. 40 patients with gingival papilla recession, totaling 151 sites, which were randomly assigned to microstimulation- LPCGF group (T1 group), microstimulation-LPCGF-LLLT group (T2 group), LPCGF group (C1 group), and LPCGF-LLLT group (C2 group). CBCT imaging, and Image J software to measure the changes. The CD34+ stem cells and cell numbers in LPCGF were detected by immunofluorescence staining, and the viability rate of CD34+ stem cells was examined by flow cytometry. The T1 and T2 groups demonstrated significantly better performance in ∆BTH and ∆BTA (P < 0.000), with regeneration rates at 3, 6, and 12 months were higher than those of the C1 and C2 groups. The groups receiving adjunctive LLLT experienced faster pain relief and more rapid recovery from gingival swelling within the first week post-surgery (P < 0.05). Additionally, the activity rate of CD34+ stem cells had no significant impact on the treatment efficacy for gingival papilla recession (P > 0.05). The microstimulation combined with LPCGF, especially with LLLT, significantly improves gingival papilla regeneration and postoperative recovery, offering an effective treatment option.
