Application Of Guide Plate In Type Ii Alveolar Bone Defects
To present the results of guided bone regeneration (GBR) with three- dimensional printing individualized guide plate (3D- PIGP) applied to alveolar bone defects with Type II of Terheyden classification and the factors affecting the osteogenic outcome. Twenty-five patients, presenting with 55 defect sites, were enrolled between 2024 and 2025. GBR+3D- PIGP was obtained with simultaneous or second stage implant placement. Bone gain was measured through digital methods by imaging data (CBCT). The complication rate, the success rate of the bone grafting procedure and the survival rate of the implant were documented. For all 55 sites, for the immediate postoperative implant region with virtual implant region apical, middle, and bottom width overlap was 96 ± 2%, 97 ± 3%, and 95 ± 4%, and bone volume overlap was 96 ± 4%. The widths of the apical, medial and basal bone increments were 3.5±1.05 mm, 4.1±1.25 mm and 3.2±0.98 mm, respectively, in the immediate postoperative period, and the widths of the apical, medial and basal bone increments were 2.45±1.2 mm, 2.75±1.55 mm and 2.28±0.88 mm, respectively, in the 6-month period after bone grafting. months later, the bone gain volume volumes were 560±270 mm3 and 460±240 mm3, respectively. The 3D- PIGP can be used in alveolar bone defects with Type II of Terheyden classification, meanwhile it can realize accurate placement of bone graft material.
