Robot-Assisted Full-Arch Rehabilitation With Digital Workflow
A patient with terminal periodontitis follow all-on-4 digital workflow leveraging autonomous robot and 4D virtual patient. A 57-year-old male smoker exhibited terminal periodontitis. A 4D virtual patient was constructed through multimodal data fusion, integrating CBCT, intraoral scan (IOS), facial scan (FS) and JMA Optic. It enabled pre-operative occlusal rehabilitation, smile design and immediate prosthesis design which was used to design implant positioning and steps, followed by fabrication of 3D-printed surgical guides and prosthesis. During surgery, autonomous robot executed the osteotomy preparation and preplanned implant placement (coronal/apical deviations <1.00mm, angular deviation<2°). The immediate prosthesis was delivered using pick-up technique through sequential surgical guide. During the definitive restoration phase, JMA Optic was updated to validate occlusal rehabilitation by observing the condylar movement trajectory, and the final prosthesis was digitally fabricated via CAD/CAM technology following ICM4D. The occlusal contact dynamics were subsequently validated using the T-Scan. Autonomous robotic surgery makes dental implant placement predictable, precise, minimally invasive, efficient and it has the ability to modify the surgical plan intraoperatively, a little requirement for mouth opening, adequate water cooling with a significantly shortened learning curve. The 4D virtual patient enabled a fully visualized, personalized, predictable workflow, and significantly reducing chairside time while enhancing patient comfort and satisfaction. Robot-assisted with digital workflow enhances full-arch rehabilitation accuracy and clinical efficiency.
