Minimal Invasive Aesthetic Treatment Of Tooth Wear: Case Report
This case demonstrates a multidisciplinary treatment strategy for a complex tooth wear patient, combining orthodontic correction with veneers, successfully achieving improvements in both function and aesthetics. A 38-year-old woman came with the complaint about progressive shortening of maxillary incisors. Her medical history revealed massive soft drink consumption. For maxillary incisors and canines., severe erosion were detectible, with the loss of enamel and dentin surface exposure. The occlusion study revealed anterior teeth with edge-to-edge bite, and loss of guidance. There were no pain during temporomandibular joint and muscular palpation. Facial and dental aesthetic analysis revealed no facial asymmetry and no deviation of horizontal facial lines. Orthodontic treatment procline the upper anterior teeth mildly and perform interproximal reduction with retraction of the lower anterior teeth to adjust the edge-to-edge occlusion in the anterior region into a shallow overjet relationship, thereby creating adequate space for subsequent restorative procedures. Then, determine the required shape through Digital Smile Design (DSD). Fabricate wax-up on a semi-adjustable articulator, followed by an intraoral mock-up for one month. Microscope-assisted tooth preparation and restorated 13-23 with lithium disilicate glass-ceramic veneers(E.max).One-year follow-up: The esthetics and incisal guidance function of the patient's anterior teeth have been successfully restored. In this tooth wear case,we used a multidisciplinary treatment approach, utilizing minimally invasive techniques to restore esthetics and incisal guidance function in the anterior region. The treatment of tooth wear requires a mutidisciplinary approach .
