Partial And Complete Implant Fixed Prostheses In Full Mouth Rehabilitation.

To evaluate marginal bone loss (MBL), success rates, and technical complication rates of partial and complete-arch implant-supported fixed dental prostheses (P-FDPs/CA-FDPs) in full mouth rehabilitation. The study included 12 participants with 22 arches (12 maxilla, 10 mandible), 96 implants, and 29 FDPs, with a mean follow-up of 6.5 ±3.6 years. The P-FDP group included 14 arches, 42 implants, and 21 prostheses, while the CA-FDP group comprised 8 arches, 54 implants, and 8 prostheses. Assessments included dental history review, clinical examination, and radiographic evaluation. Parameters evaluated were timing of prosthesis delivery, survival and success rates of implants and prostheses, prosthetic complications rate, and MBL per year. The Mann-Whitney U test was used for comparisons (α= .05). Implant success rates were 95.2% in the P-FDPs group and 100% in the CA-FDPs group. Prosthetic complications occurred in 25% of the CA-FDPs group (2 instances of chipping), but none in the P-FDPs group. MBL per year was 0.09 (0.07, 0.16) mm for the P-FDPs group and 0.04 (0.02, 0.09) mm for the CA-FDPs group, showing a significant difference (P< .001). The P-FDPs group exhibited significantly higher MBL, while the CA-FDPs group experienced a higher rate of prosthetic complications. These findings suggest that different treatment and maintenance strategies may be needed for the two prosthetic designs.
