Finite Element Analysis Of Schneider Membrane Stress Distribution After Implant
This experiment utilizes the finite element analysis method to investigate the stress distribution, stress peak, and displacement of the Schneiderian membrane during occlusion after maxillary sinus elevation and implant restoration with 3mm and 5mm remaining bone volume in the maxillary molar area and under different bone quality conditions. Eighteen groups of nonlinear three-dimensional finite element models for maxillary sinus elevation surgery with different bone qualities and remaining bone quantities were constructed to bear the occlusal force. The preprocessing, analysis and postprocessing of the models were carried out. In each model group, the peak values of Von Mises stress and displacement of Schneider's membrane show a gradually increasing trend from type I bone to type IV bone, reaching the maximum value in type IV bone. In the 3mm residual bone volume model, in the S group of large-thread implants in type IV bone, the maximum peak value of Von Mises stress of Schneider's membrane is 0.558 MPa, and the maximum peak value of displacement is 278 μm. In each model group, the results of the peak displacement of Schneider's membrane all show a gradually increasing trend from type I bone to type IV bone. When the residual bone volume in the maxillary molar area is small, performing maxillary sinus elevation and implant restoration with the use of bone graft materials can reduce the mobility of the implant and the stress of Schneider's membrane.
