A Novel Method Applying To Complete Arch Implant-Supported Prostheses

To exhibit the clinical procedures and effectiveness of a one-step technique for making definitive impression and centric relation record in a maxillary complete arch implant-supported prosthesis. A patient presenting with the complete absence of maxillary teeth, underwent a comprehensive procedure for a complete arch implant-supported prosthesis. An implant positioning tray and Gothic arch tracer were designed and three-dimensional (3D) printed. A definitive impression was made by the positioning tray while meticulously making the centric relation record with the help of Gothic arch tracer in a single step. Radiographic techniques were employed to examine the seating of the prosthesis, accompanied by a clinical assessment of the centric occlusion to verify the efficiency of this technique. Conventional restoration steps in implant-supported prostheses are complicated and fully digital workflows have clinical limitations. So, an implant positioning tray and Gothic arch tracer were designed to solve these problems. However, this study presents limitations. Firstly, this methodology is tailored for scenarios characterized by a significant vertical dimension; otherwise, there is no enough space to set Gothic arch tracer. Secondly, despite the patient achieving a favorable centric relation and the prosthesis being well-positioned, the precision of this approach necessitates validation through extensive clinical case studies. This method validated the clinical viability of making the centric relation record during the impression process for complete arch implant-supported prostheses, thereby minimizing patient visits. It signified a pivotal advancement in integrating 3D printed positioning trays and Gothic arch tracers into traditional impression techniques.
