Application Of Neutral Zone Technique In Complete Denture Rehabilitation
This study explores the innovative application of the neutral zone technique in complete denture rehabilitation to enhance the prosthetic outcomes for edentulous patients. A 68-year-old male patient with complete tooth loss and severe resorption of the mandibular residual ridge experienced poor stability of his old dentures. A new complete denture was fabricated using the neutral zone technique, with the neutral zone morphology recorded via the swallowing method and an impression material used to create a guide. The artificial teeth were arranged centered on the neutral zone with the help of a guide. Results showed that the new denture had good stability, high masticatory efficiency, and was aesthetically pleasing and comfortable, leading to high patient satisfaction. Compared to traditional methods, the neutral zone technique significantly improved the stability, masticatory function, and patient satisfaction of complete dentures, while reducing complications. This study provides an effective rehabilitation method for edentulous patients with severe mandibular residual ridge resorption. The neutral zone technique has significant clinical importance in complete denture rehabilitation, improving prosthetic outcomes and enhancing patients' quality of life.
