Network Meta-Analysis Of Bone Rrepairmaterials For Apical Bone Defects

This study used the network meta-analysis(NMA) method to compare and rank the efficacy of bone repair materials for apical bone defects. The randomized controlled trials on the treatment of apical bone defects caused by apical periodontitis or apical cysts were searched from domestic and foreign databases. The search period is from the establishment of the library to 2024. The quality of the included literature was assessed for risk of bias according to the Cochrane review manual using RevMan5.4, and the data were statistically analyzed using Stata 17MP. This NMA has been registered with PROSPERO, and the registration number is CRD42024551698. A total of 27 articles were included, including 1556 patients, involving 11 interventions: hydroxylapatite (HA), Bio-oss bone powder, collagen membrane, HA+collagen membrane, Bio-oss+collagen membrane, platelet-concentrated growth factor (CGF), platelet-rich fibrin (PRF), gelatin sponge, blank control (blood clot organization healing), calcium sulfate, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) . The results of NAM showed that: The top three in terms of efficiency: HA+collagen membrane > CGF> Bio-oss + collagen membrane; Incidence of adverse reactions: gelatin sponge > blank control > HA > HA + collagen membrane. The effect of HA combined with collagen membrane was the most significant. HA combined with collagen membrane had the lowest incidence of postoperative adverse reactions.
