Dlp Printing Of Biodegradable Iron-Based Craniofacial Bone Plates
This study aims to investigate the application of digital light processing (DLP) printing for fabricating high-precision, iron craniofacial bone plates, focusing on structural integrity, mechanical performance, and biocompatibility. Materials and equipment: Iron powder, photocurable resin, photoinitiator, dispersant, DLP printer. Method: Printing Process: DLP printing technology was employed, optimizing parameters such as exposure time, layer thickness, and resolution to achieve high precision. Sample Fabrication: Three-dimensional models of craniofacial bone plates were designed and printed using the DLP system. After printing, the green body requires debinding and sintering to achieve densification. Evaluation: The printed samples were evaluated via morphological analysis (scanning electron microscopy), mechanical tests (bending and compression), and in vitro biocompatibility assays (cell viability and inflammatory response). The study demonstrated that DLP printing successfully produced craniofacial bone plates with precise dimensions and detailed structures. Mechanical tests revealed that the printed samples met clinical strength requirements, outperforming some conventional fabrication methods. Biocompatibility assays indicated a smooth surface finish with no significant cytotoxicity, confirming excellent cellular compatibility. DLP printing is a viable method for producing high-precision iron-based craniofacial bone plates. The technique offers the benefits of customized design, robust mechanical properties, and favorable biocompatibility, representing a promising approach for clinical craniofacial repair applications.
