Case Of Bilateral Mandibular Lateral Anterior Teeth With Double Canals
Missing root canal is the main reason for the failure of root canal treatment of mandibular anterior teeth. Incidence of two canals in mandibular anterior teeth is 9.2%ཞ63.20%, of which the prevalence of Type III(1-2-1) is 10.36%-15.22%. A 42-year-old male patient presented with the chief complaint of pain and swelling in his lower anterior tooth since last two months. A diagnosis of chronic apical periodontitis of bilateral mandibular lateral anterior was established and root canal treatment was planned. CBCT images confirmed the presence of two canals in 32 and 42 tooth. After rubber dam application, access to the canal was gained. Canal preparation was performed with ProTaper Next rotary Ni-Ti files to X3. Calcium hydroxide paste was placed and the access cavity was sealed. At the second appointment, the patient was asymptomatic. Root canals obturation was performed using warm gutta-percha obturation technique. The patient was asymptomatic in the 6-month follow-up. The root of the mandibular lateral incisor is flat, with a single root canal as the main feature. If there are two root canals, they are distributed in the labial and lingual directions. 1. Use offset projection technique, with the best angles being 30 ° to the left and 20 ° to the right. 2. CBCT can quantitatively measure the second canal. 3.In clinical, dental microscopes combined with rubber barriers canaccurately observe the deep part of the root canal and locate the second root canal.
