Intelligent Dental Platform With Chair Interconnection

To address the fragmentation of dental specialty treatment data and the heterogeneity of medical devices, an intelligent treatment platform was developed to enhance data integration efficiency and improve the quality of dental care services. By leveraging the Internet of Things (IoT), multimodal sensors, and cloud storage technology, traditional dental chairs were upgraded into smart systems. An interconnected chair-side platform integrating data collection, transmission, and analysis was developed. A pilot study was conducted in a tertiary dental hospital from 2023 to 2024, comparing diagnostic efficiency indicators (such as daily patient volume and waiting time) before and after platform implementation. Additionally, a survey was conducted to assess user satisfaction. Following platform implementation, the daily patient volume increased by 38% (from 58.4 to 80.6 patients), and the average waiting time decreased by 39% (from 38.3 to 23.3 minutes). Patient satisfaction improved by 6% (from 88.2% to 94.3%). Over 75% of doctors and patients highly recognized the platform’s ease of use and data interconnectivity features. The chair-side interconnectivity platform effectively addresses the issue of data silos in dental healthcare, significantly optimizing treatment workflows and resource management. It provides a feasible pathway for the digital transformation of specialty dental care. Future developments should further integrate artificial intelligence and 5G technology to enhance multimodal data analysis capabilities.
