Establishment Of Three-Dimensional Esthetic Analysis Workflow And Preliminary Validation
To establish a three-dimensional aesthetic analysis workflow for anterior teeth that facilitates artificial intelligence recognition and automated computation, providing clinicians with rapid and precise esthetic analysis methodologies. A comprehensive three-dimensional aesthetic analysis workflow suitable for artificial intelligence automated computation was established. First utilized 3D facial and dental scans in various functional states created virtual patient models with coordinate systems. Then identified esthetic contours for restoration design and facilitated the definition of computational formulas for automated esthetic parameter calculation. For validation, 20 volunteers without anterior aesthetic defects and 30 patients with aesthetic deficiencies (single tooth defect, multiple teeth defects, and diastema) were assessed using 3D analysis, 2D analysis, and direct measurement methods in a self-control design. The three-dimensional esthetic analysis demonstrated excellent repeatability across all measurement parameters in both volunteer and patient groups. Compared to 2D analysis, 3D analysis results more closely approximated direct measurements, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05) observed in tooth-related esthetic parameters and in several of the dental-facial and facial esthetic parameters. This study established a 3D aesthetic analysis workflow based on virtual patient models, identified key aesthetic parameters for anterior dental prosthetic design, and developed automated computational formulae. Validation demonstrates accuracy and reliability, providing a foundation for AI applications in dental esthetics and prosthetic design.
