Digital Immediate Prosthetic Rehabilitation Of Maxillary Reconstruction
This study aims to evaluate the advantages of a fully digital workflow for immediate prosthetic rehabilitation, explore its clinical applications, and assess its overall clinical effectiveness. A retrospective study was conducted on 10 patients with maxillary defects who underwent immediate prosthetic rehabilitation between January 2021 and March 2025. A fully digital workflow was implemented, including preoperative precise resection planning, multi-source data fusion modeling, digital surgical simulation, clasp design, virtual tooth arrangement, and 3D printing of the prosthesis. Prefabricated prostheses were placed immediately postoperatively to restore function and aesthetics. Clinical outcomes were evaluated to assess the effectiveness of the immediate prosthetic approach. During the postoperative follow-up period, no cases of tumor recurrence were observed. Patients exhibited satisfactory functional recovery, with stable prosthesis retention, precise fit, and no significant pain or discomfort. Additionally, facial soft tissue showed no noticeable scar contracture, and patients reported high satisfaction with both the reconstructive and prosthetic outcomes. Immediate prosthetic rehabilitation utilizing a fully digital workflow provides structural support, preserves facial morphology, and minimizes scar tissue formation. The integration of advanced digital technologies enhances both aesthetic and functional outcomes, underscoring its clinical efficacy in maxillary defect reconstruction.
