Comparison Of The Quality With Two Flaps:A Meta-Analysis

To systematically evaluate the effectiveness and quality of anterolateral thigh flaps and forearm flaps for repairing soft tissue defects after oral squamous cell carcinoma surgery. Computer searches were conducted on PubMed, Embase, Medline, Cochrane Library, CNKI, Wanfang Medical Network and the website of Weipu databases. Then, RevMan 5.4 software was used to perform a meta-analysis. The results showed that in terms of flap preparation time, the time for FF was significantly less than that for ALTF but there was no significant difference in the total duration of the operation. In terms of postoperative complications in the surgical area, ALTF has a lower incidence of postoperative pigmentation, hypertrophic scarring, and abnormal sensation in the surgical area, in terms of postoperative oral function, ALTF has a lower incidence of temporal/permanent functional impairment, and the ALTF group also significantly outperformed the FF group in terms of postoperative chewing function scores. in the postoperative swallowing function score, ALTF was superior to the FF group, and the difference was statistically significant. The incidence of postoperative complications in the ALTF group was significantly lower than that in the FF group, and the postoperative oral function recovery was better than that in the FF group. If the goal is to reduce the incidence of postoperative complications or to pursue the best postoperative oral function recovery effect, ALTF is more likely to be recommended as the first choice.
