Robot-Assisted Immediate Implantation And Restoration Of Full Maxillary Dentition
This case illustrates how robotics and digital tools synergize to overcome the challenges of maxillary full-arch immediate rehabilitation, from planning to execution and restoration. This case demonstrates a fully digital workflow for robot-assisted maxillary full-arch immediate implantation and restoration. The 4D virtual patient model was created through integration of dual CBCT scans, intraoral scans, 3D facial scans, dynamic facial imaging, mandibular movement tracking, and electronic facebow data, enabling comprehensive prosthetic-driven planning. The robotic system executed implant placement with sub-2mm accuracy. Immediate restoration was achieved through a prefabricated provisional bridge with pickup technique, followed by definitive prosthesis fabrication using digital impressions to create a milled titanium framework with zirconia crowns. The case incorporated Joda and Gallucci's (2015) virtual patient concept through multidimensional integration of CBCT, intraoral scans, dynamic facial imaging, and functional jaw movement data for comprehensive prosthetic-driven planning. It demonstrates the precision and clinical rationale for robot-assisted full-arch implantation, supported by La Monaca et al.'s (2022) findings. For the maxillary rehabilitation, current evidence (La Monaca et al., 2022) suggests the 6-implant approach provides optimal stress distribution (98.1% 10-year survival) while reducing prosthetic complications by 62%. The digital approach provided three key advantages: (1) multimodal data integration for reliable planning, (2) robotic precision overcoming human limitations, and (3) a traceable closed-loop workflow from diagnosis to final restoration - significantly enhancing surgical accuracy, prosthetic outcomes, and patient comfort through optimized occlusal design based on dynamic functional data.
