An Ros-Scavenging Cgrp-Loading Hydrogel For Diabetic Bone Regeneration

An ROS scavenging hydrogel (RSG) delivery system with the functions of ROS-Scavenging and responsive drug release was designed to promote bone regeneration of diabatic mandibular defects. RSG / CGRP hydrogel possessed sufficient mechanical strength, extremly high ROS scavenging effect and excellent biocompatibility.Due to the CGRP loaded in the hydrogel, it displayed an outstanding ability of bone induction. The TK linker agent helped scavenge the excess ROS, which inhibited the polarization of macrophages into the M1 phenotype. In addition, RSG/CGRP hydrogel can promote the improvement of local ROS levels and inflammation levels in diabetic rats with mandibular bone defects, and enhance bone regeneration in vivo.
