Application Of Artificial Intelligence Models In Maxillofacial Prosthesis Restoration
A comprehensive summary of the research on the collection, data analysis, and coloring of AI in the imaging of facial prostheses, outlining its applications and future trends, in order to enhance the diagnosis and treatment experience of patients. Based on the PICO principle, searches were conducted on PubMed, Web of Science, and Cochrane databases, as well as manual searches. English articles from January 2016 to November 2024 according to specific inclusion and exclusion criteria. The quality assessment was conducted by two researchers using the JBI Key Assessment List for quasi-experimental research. A total of 17 related articles were identified, including 7 in the field of image collection, 8 in the field of data analysis, and 2 in the field of pseudo-coloring. The results show that the application of AI in these three areas has become popular since 2019, reaching a historic high in 2024. In these three areas of research, although AI has improved the accuracy of maxillofacial prosthesis structure, this conclusion is still limited by various technological interferences. These issues need further exploration to enhance the hard power of AI development. In addition, the considerations for comfort and efficiency between patients and doctors in practical operation are relatively scarce, which is the direction for the future development of AI software. Lastly, the complexity of maxillofacial cranial bone structure is still a hot topic, and we need further in-depth exploration into special structures that are easily damaged or personalized model designs.
